You must protect Gotham following the death of Batman…
We’re now just a few months out from one of the most anticipated games of the year, and the folks behind Gotham Knights have released a brand new look at the gameplay we will be getting lost in for the days and weeks and probably months following its release.
This actually isn’t a direct following on from Batman: Arkham Knight which did end with the death of Batman (sort of), despite coming from the same developers who made Batman: Arkham Origins.
In terms of the story, we control one of four caped-and-masked crime-fighters – Red Hood, Robin, Batgirl and Nightwing – following the death of Batman, and we must protect Gotham from the sudden influx of criminal activity, which seems to be headed by mysterious organisation The Court Of Owls.
In the new gameplay footage, the folks at DC Games show off the different fighting styles of Nightwing and Red Hood, each with their own distinctive ways of attacking and defending themselves, as well as travelling around the city of Gotham.
The gameplay also shows off the aspect of online multiplayer, which will allow a second person to join in your game and control one of the other Gotham Knights, assisting you with your mission of saving the city.
Gotham Knights will be available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC from Tuesday, 25 October.
