Prepare to kiss your social life goodbye.

Is there a video game out there that’s more fun than Mario Kart?

Sure, there’s probably more all-encompassing, detailed video games than the classic Nintendo game, but is there anything that you could genuinely sit down for an hour, in a group on your own, and have as much fun playing?

We reckon that Mario Kart tops the list.

Which is why when the news broke that it was coming to smartphones, we were absolutely over the moon.

There is one slight setback though. Mario Kart Tour was supposed to be made available on smartphones in March of 2019, but it has now been announced that the release date has been pushed back a bit.

In Nintendo’s most recent quarterly earnings report, released on Friday, the company confirmed that the game had been delayed until Summer 2019.

“In the smart-device business, Mario Kart Tour was scheduled to be released this fiscal year, but in order to improve quality of the application and expand the content offerings after launch, the release date has been moved to summer 2019.”

Sure look, we’ll put up with that. We reckon it will still be worth the wait.

The first Super Mario Kart was released way back in 1992, and there has been over 100 million copies sold of the series so far to date, so to say that it has proven popular is an understatement.

If the past is anything to go by, we’ll all be spending our days and nights struggling through Rainbow Road this summer.
