The sequel to one of the greatest video games ever made finally has a release date

It also has an official title: Tears of the Kingdom.
How do you follow up something like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? A game so good that it helped the Nintendo Switch to continue to be one of the best-selling consoles of the generation? A game so good that it has sold over 28 million copies since its release in 2017? A game so good that it is generally considered to be one of the very best games ever made? Well, if you're Nintendo, you follow it up by taking... your... time. Yep, it will have been a full six years since BOTW arrived, but Nintendo are now finally ready to share some information about the new game. Or, more specifically, its title and release date. The full title is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the first few mysterious images and random snippets of scenes were revealed during Nintendo Direct's showcase today (Tuesday, 13 September). Not much else has been revealed at this point, but for now, that is more than enough to get us exceedingly hyped!
