The US Coast Guard has confirmed 'presumed human remains' were uncovered from the Titan sub wreckage.
Wreckage from the Titan submersible disaster has been removed from the water following the "catastrophic implosion".
The human remains will be analysed by medical professionals, the US Coast Guard confirmed.
Debris and other evidence were also recovered from the sea floor at the site of the tragic accident.
Captain Jason Neubauer issued a statement following the discovery:
"The evidence will provide investigators from several international jurisdictions with critical insights into the cause of this tragedy.
"There is still a substantial amount of work to be done to understand the factors that led to the catastrophic loss of the Titan and help ensure a similar tragedy does not occur again."
