LOCATION: DUBLIN BASED

JOB TYPE: FULL TIME 

HYBRID - MUST BE IN THE OFFICE MINIMUM 3 DAYS PER WEEK

REPORT TO: CONTENT DIRECTOR

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• A knowledge of how social feeds and algorithms work - knowledge of how various platforms differ from each other.
• Experience working in a newsroom or fast-paced digital publisher - whether that be as a social media manager or journalist.
• Knowing what makes a good hook of a story, and knowing how to translate that for an online/social audience
• Ability to interview top level sports stars and celebrities
• Great working knowledge of Canva & Premiere Pro is needed
• Knowledge of mobile editing apps key also
• Varied portfolio showcasing editorial content, specifically designed for social media
• Clear track record of working within the video space needed
• Presenting skills on video required

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver both editorial and video content to the Sports JOE social channels every day
• Work across a wide range of sports
• Work with the JOE Content Creators (Video) to plan out the week of videos
• Work closely with the JOE Social Media Manager to deliver content quickly and to a high standard, further developing the unique JOE tone of voice
• Contribute to weekly brainstorms on trends, video ideas, content strategy and more for the JOE channels.
• Liaise with the Editors and Content Director on a constant basis to devise creative ways to distribute editorial content via the JOE social channels.
• Propose new ideas and concepts for social media content. Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications.
• Review performance of content, suggest improvement areas and work with Content Director and the JOE Editors in maintaining a high standard of editorial creation.
• Ability to work across organic and commercial content needed

SKILLS

• Background in journalism and/or social media management 
• Ability to shoot and edit for social media platforms essential
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Full Driving Licence a plus
• Great attention to detail with a focus on quality output
• Ability to work independently
• An ideas person who is able to contribute to brainstorms (both editorial and commercial)
• Excellent news judgement, able to see where the news agenda will be going and plan content to meet it, alongside recognising the potential of viral content.
• Interest and/or experience in Irish culture  is a plus
• Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
• Solutions-oriented and proactive
• Willing to learn on the job and adapt depending on the circumstances
