COMPETITION: Vote for who you think should win €1,000 to fuel their passion

JOE

Fuel their passion

Brought to you by Vodafone X

Who do you think should win?

Last month, we announced that Vodafone was offering one lucky JOE reader the chance to win €1,000 to fuel their passion. It could be anything from makeup design to impersonating celebs, but we wanted to hear about what gets you up in the morning.

The response was fantastic, and we heard many fascinating stories about the different passions people have in life. It wasn’t easy, but we’ve narrowed it down to our three favourite entries, and made videos with them telling us all about their passion.

Take a look at the three videos below, and fill in the form at the bottom of your page to vote for your winner. The money the winner receives could make a huge difference for their career, so get voting!

Brooklyn Bond – SFX Artist

Yes, that is an awesome name. Brooklyn has had a passion for special effects makeup since her mom got her a kit as a present when she was 12. The response she received on the stuff she created was what made her realise that it was something she could really succeed in.

Her dream is to one day create special effects as a full-time career, and it’s not difficult to see that happening given the incredible (and gory) things she can create. It’s the shock factor of what Brooklyn does that she loves the most, and says a bad reaction is often exactly what she’s hoping for.

Jack McKeon – Illustrator & Portraitist

Drawing has been a talent of Jack’s since he first picked up a crayon at the age of two. Since that first work of art, Jack has committed his efforts to making all of his portraits as life-like as possible.

After studying Architecture in UL for a year, Jack knew it wasn’t for him. He says he was lucky in that his parents have always been supportive of his passion, which certainly helped give him the confidence to pursue his dream.

Daire Martin – Strongman Competitor

Any man who trains himself to pull a 10-tonne truck certainly needs fuel for his passion. Two years ago he never would have dreamed that he’d be able to maintain his fitness to such a high standard, let alone compete in one of Ireland’s most physically challenging events.

His advice for anyone looking for a new passion is to simply detach yourself from whatever is holding you back, and get in the zone. Seeing as he’s still only 18 years old, we can expect a lot more from the Monaghan man!
