Apparently, drinking alcohol can slow down your ageing process

But, don't go wild just yet

A new study conducted by the University of Iowa has shown that drinking alcohol can help to slow down your ageing process.

The study showed that those who indulge in one or two alcoholic drinks each day, aged far better than those who drank less.

We know many of you will be claiming that, if this is true, you should look like this…

The study examined the genetic makeup of 836 people in America and tested the effects of smoking and drinking alcohol on ageing and it had some surprising discoveries according to Shortlist.

While smoking accelerated the ageing process, alcohol did the opposite and noticeably slowed down the wear and tear on a person’s body.

But before you go steaming out to by a slab of Dutch Gold and drink your body back to the fresh faced youth you used to be, there is a bit of small print on this discovery.

Both low and excessive consumption of the wobbly water led to increased ageing, so if you’re relying on this method instead of your anti-ageing cream, make sure that you only do so in moderation.

In other words, the old phrase, “a little is good, more must be better”, does not apply in this situation…
