This week we’re featuring a cool energy saving device that will definitely get you out of trouble if you’re on the road and your phone is about to clock off.

We’ve all been there… You’re on the road and just when you could seriously do with calling someone – lets say you’re dangling off a cliff like in The Italian Job – your phone conveniently decides to die. Now, you’d be alright if your knowledge of Indian smoke signals was up to scratch or if you happened to have your trusty carrier pigeon on you, but for the rest of us, it means an absolute mare is on the cards. Unless, of course, you have the Motormonkey Car Charger.

So what is this Motormonkey Car Charger? Well, it’s one of the smallest, lightest stainless steel in-car chargers in the world. Basically, the Motormonkey can charge most popular mobile phones and devices including iPhones, iPods, PSPs and BlackBerry, all while you’re on the move. How handy is that? You, or even the kids, will never be stuck with a dead device on your next long journey.

It’s certainly discrete

It’s slim line design means that the Motormonkey car charger is unobtrusive and you can leave it plugged into your cigarette lighter when it’s not in use, without worrying about it draining your car’s battery. All that you have to do is plug in the USB cable that comes with your chosen device and you can charge way to your heart’s content.

A little LED light comes on to let you know it’s in use and once your device is fully charged the Motormonkey switches itself off. It works in all 12v/24v lighter sockets and it can be yours for just €25.99 over on the Electric Ireland online store.

It’s a handy little device for any driver to have and who knows, it could even be a lifesaver – or at the very least your social-life saver.

For more great deals head over to Electric Ireland’s online store where you can find loads of great energy saving devices.
