VIDEO: First-time Irish dad vlogging about his experiences is an amazing emotional rollercoaster

Paddy McKenna

Paul Mahon is not your average Irish dad.

He’s a man who likes to document every aspect of his life on social media and he’s been doing a damn fine job to date on Snapchat and beyond. Screen Shot 2016-03-21 at 15.41.57

He and his partner, Zoë have just welcomed baby Zelda into the world and now he’s busy documenting “what it means to be a dad in Ireland in 2016”.

He told JOE how so many of his mates are having babies, “but nobody really seems to have a clue what they’re doing”.

So, he and Zoë (an absolute hero of a woman by the way), have taken the insanely brave decision to document every step of the new-dad experience.

Nothing is left to the imagination…

…To the birth!! YES, the actual birth!!

Seriously, no Irish dad has vlogged he and his partner’s experience like this ever before.

Scrap that, we’ve never seen anything quite like this from any dad.

The most recent video documents Paul’s ham-fisted efforts at the most dreaded of all new dad experiences – the first nappy change.

It’s very sweet but CHRIST JESUS Paul do not drop the babby whilst recording sir!

Paul has very kindly put all of his vlogs into one handy playlist and you can watch all 5 episodes from the start here.

And, in case you were wondering how Paul is just so good at putting these vlogs together, well, he’s a talented Irish film maker and you can check out his other work at Geppetto.ie.
