A death row prisoner in Georgia in the United States of America has opted to have a big blow-out for a final meal before being executed at the end of September.
Keith Tharpe is due to be executed by lethal injection on Tuesday according to news.com.auand his last meal will consist of “three spicy chicken breasts, a roast beef sandwich with sauce, a fish sandwich, potato wedges, onion rings, apple pie and a vanilla milkshake."
In most states in America, it is normal for death row inmates to ask for anything for their final meal with the exception of alcohol.
However, Marcus Ray Johnson still attempted to have a six-pack of beer before he was executed in 2015 but his final wish was denied.
The rule has been abolished completely in Texas after one inmate ordered a mountain of food but then refused to eat it saying that he was not hungry.
Tharpe is currently appealing his death sentence but if he is executed, he will be the second person this year to be put to death, the first being J.W. Ledford Jr.
Ledford's meal was equally as impressive as Tharpe's last feast and he devoured a whopping 5500-calorie last meal featuring filet mignon steak wrapped in bacon with pepperjack cheese, fried chicken, fried pork chops and chicken goujons.
For sides alone, he ordered a 2000-calorie onion which was battered and deep-fried, 1000-calorie portion of hot chips which was washed down with a pecan pie, vanilla ice cream and sherbet and a glass of sprite.
