WATCH: Nothing to see here, just a Garda and a nun playing keepy-uppies in Limerick city

Conor Heneghan

Limerick

They can play a bit too.

Walk down the street on an average day in Limerick city and you could come across scenes that you might not expect to encounter on an average day anywhere else.

In recent months, for example, visitors the city may have come across a man befriending a swan stranded on a busy road or a Good Samaritan handing out sweets to fellow motorists in the middle of a traffic jam.

More recently, people in town for the Our Lady of Limerick Triduum and festival may have come across a Garda and a nun playing a spot of keepy-uppies in the middle of the city, which was captured on camera and published on the An Garda Síochána Southern Region Facebook page for Cork, Kerry and Limerick.

Garda O’Connell of Henry St Community Policing Unit and a nun from the Dominican Sisters showcased their skills in front of a small but appreciative audience and despite wearing attire not exactly conducive to a game of ball, they acquitted themselves very well under the circumstances.

Just another average day in Limerick citaayyyy.
