There is one funnyman that Irish holidaymakers would love to bring on their holidays with them

It's an obvious choice, isn't it?

Holiday

Imagine the stories? It would be the best holiday ever.

Nothing could make your holiday in the sun any better than a few cocktails and a few jokes being cracked from television funnyman, Graham Norton.

According to a national Red C survey conducted on behalf of leading independent travel specialists, Travel Counsellors Ireland, Graham Norton is the top Irish celebrity that people would like to share a holiday with.

He was a big hitter for Irish women with almost half of them picking the Cork man to be their travel buddy while one in three men wanted Norton by their side on the plane.

Kim Kardashian was a huge fan favourite among men and nearly 20% wanted to bring her on holiday compared to just 4% of women who would feel comfortable spending a week up close and personal with the reality star.

Chart-topping singer Adele was chosen by 27% while one in five picked Hollywood actor Michael Fassbender.

However, no matter where you go, you will always miss the little things about home and the survey found that one in ten people like to pack their teabags as well as their sun cream when going on holidays.

General manager at Travel Counsellors Ireland, Cathy Burke said: “A sense of fun is definitely on Irish holidaymakers’ travel checklists, and Graham Norton would make an ideal holiday companion. He’d no doubt have many enormously entertaining anecdotes to keep you laughing throughout your break.”

The nationally representative survey of over 1,000 adults also found one in three could not live without their smartphone on holidays. The same number, 31%, placed a similar value in sun lotion followed by books at 15%.

“So, it’s interesting to see just how invaluable smartphones are in people’s lives,” said Cathy.

“At Travel Counsellors, we place a huge emphasis on developing our global technology, used to enhance the personal and exceptional service our Travel Counsellors provide to all their customers.

“By doing this, it means that our customers can spend less time on their smartphones researching their holiday hotspot and more time enjoying it, as all the work has been done for them,” she concluded.
