Lots of Irish chippers are offering €5 meal deals today in aid of Pieta House

More than 70 Irish chippers are offering €5 meal deals today in aid of Pieta House. The chippers have come together to raise money for Pieta House following the tragic loss of a member of the Irish-Italian community last year. On Wednesday, the following chippers will offer discounted €5 meal deals to walk-in and collection customers throughout the day. The €5 offer will apply to a cod & chips, quarter pounder and chips, and a chicken snack box. As stated on the Facebook page of one of the participating restaurants, staff members "will all be wearing our Pieta House t-shirts with pride and will have donations buckets on the counters, remember every single cent counts towards the final figure so give whatever you can. Each shop will be making their own personal contribution towards this amazing charity too. "Suicide awareness and prevention is a necessity and unfortunately it has affected a great many of us so please join us on January 15 and help raise the funds that are so greatly needed."
