Autumn layering season has arrived early, and Marks and Spencer shoppers have found their new favourite. The retailer’s Suedette Button Through Short Jacket, priced at €72, has shot straight to the number one best-selling spot on the M&S website as fashion fans start planning their cooler-weather wardrobes.
The jacket features a stylish wide collar and a button-through front, cut to a regular fit with a length that sits just at the waist – designed to be teamed with jeans, tailored trousers or a skirt on milder autumn days. It comes in two shades, "grey blue" and olive, with sizes ranging from 6 to 24.
The jacket is available now on the M&S website and in stores, as first reported by the Irish Mirror. With stock already flying off the shelves, autumn-ready shoppers may want to move fast.

Reviewers have hailed the piece as "classy" and "well structured." One wrote: "Boxy fit, very on trend, feels lovely and can’t wait to wear in the autumn," while another said the olive version "looks expensive" and would "go with lots of autumn colours." It is the latest in a run of high-street hits, with Irish bargain-hunters increasingly ditching pricier brands for cheaper alternatives that punch above their weight.
