The U2 front man had a very nasty bike accident and even nastier injuries…
It’s been well documented that U2 had to cancel their planned week-long residency on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon after Bono had hurt his arm following a biking accident in Central Park, New York.
What was not immediately known was the severity of the injuries he had suffered. According to Rolling Stone, Bono suffered a facial fracture involving the orbit of his eye, three separate fractures of his left shoulder blade, and a fracture of his left humerus bone in his upper arm.
The latter injury was particularly damaging, with the bone shattering in six different places and tearing through his skin. He also fractured the little finger of his left hand.
He underwent five hours of surgery and needed three metal plates and 18 screws to repair the arm injury. Bone through the skin? That’s really nasty David Busst stuff right there.
We here in JOE would like to wish Bono a speedy recovery. Because he’s a big fan of the site, obviously…
