PIC: Galway pub readies itself for Galway Races with massive delivery of kegs stacked outside

Alan Loughnane

That’s a lot of pints…

As many of you will be aware, the Galway Races take place in Galway next week from July 31 until August 6, meaning a greater number of people than usual are likely to visit pubs in Galway seeking refreshment.

As it’s likely to be the busiest week of the year for many publicans throughout the city, establishments in Galway are keen to make sure they have the supply to satisfy the inevitable demand for their beverages.

Well, it seems that O’Connell’s in Eyre Square have the preparations for the busy week well underway and JOE reader Seamus Earls snapped this photo of their whopping delivery of kegs coming into the pub this morning.

It’s going to take a lot of people to get through all those kegs at the races and if you’re one of those who’s helping out, we urge you to do so responsibly.

Cheers to Paschal Whyte for sending this our way.
