Road trip to Athlone, anyone?
Sun-worshippers throughout Ireland have been lapping up the fine weather we’ve been having of late, by taking to the beach, making rooftop pools or having a drink in some of Ireland’s favourite outdoor spots.
It’s also given plenty of people a chance to indulge in some water-based activities and if you’re the type that likes to make a splash, then a trip to Athlone could be on the cards over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Since the middle of May, what is believed to be the largest inflatable waterslide in the world has been set up at Baysports Hodson Bay in Athlone and one glance at it in all its glory will bring out the big kid in you in no time.
Folks from the Guinness Book of Records will be along later this month to determine whether or not it is THE largest inflatable waterslide in the world, but even if it doesn’t secure that coveted title, it looks like tremendous fun.
Baysports Hodson Bay is open from 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday and it will be open throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.
