A single of chips for a pair of romantics
It’s frequently said that the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach but this sentiment seems equally appropriate when it comes to Irish women and chips.
Joanna is a lucky lady from Louth after she got a bag of chips and this romantic gesture emblazoned across the Drogheda viaduct.
It reads, “Happy Valentine’s Day Joanna. Ye know I love ye. Shaa didn’t I buy ye chips.”
We imagine that this chipper Casanova will be buying her a 3-in-1 if he ever decides to propose.
Update: We’re hearing mixed reports about whether or not this is the greatest declaration of love since Ron Burgundy opened his heart to Veronica Corningstone in Anchorman or just a photoshop that has shattered our belief in love.
JOE reader Barry Reynolds seems to know the man responsible for this but the authenticity still remains unclear.
All of our sound Drogheda readers can help fill us in but we’re believing that it’s true regardless.
We’re softies like that.
