PIC: Wine in a can is now a thing and it must be stopped

Mancan

Conor Heneghan

No. Just no.

“I wish I could get wine in a can” reads a quote on the website of MANCAN, a new product promising wine that is delicious and easy to drink. From a can. Yep, you read that right.

It’s not entirely surprising to see that the quote isn’t attributed, however, because we think we can say with some degree of certainty that nobody has ever uttered such a sentence in their lives.

Despite seemingly very limited demand, MANCAN have three ranges of wine available to whoever would like to sample it from a can; fizzy white, red white blend and white wine blend, all of which are available online as handy 24-packs that you could fill the fridge with.

Because we haven’t yet had the opportunity to sample the product yet maybe we are being a bit hard on MANCAN, but something about drinking wine from a can, in the same way, for example, as drinking beer from a shoe, just seems plain wrong.

And don’t get us started on the selling point on the back of said can…

We appreciate that they’re going all out to appeal to manly men who want a manly wine in a can, but we’ll stick to our slightly chilled blend of Cabernet Franc and Grolleau Noir for now, thank you very much.
