Show this to your boss.

What’s your working routine? Maybe you’re one of those annoying people that arrive into the office full of enthusiasm and energy for the upcoming day. Then again, maybe you’re just like everyone else, desperately looking for an excuse to skive off work and twirl around on your desk chair.

Personally speaking, I don’t trust anyone that’s full of pep, happiness and smiles at 9am because it’s just unnatural. Sometimes you really feel the need to throw your stapler at these super-smiley colleagues but it seems that your strange desire to torture them does have a legitimate proof, according to recent scientific research.

According to Oxford University researcher Dr. Paul Kelley, making staff work before 10 a.m. is equivalent to torture because it can make employees feel ill, exhausted, and stressed.

Speaking with the National Post he said “Before the age of 55, the circadian rhythms of adults are completely out of sync with normal nine-to-five working hours, posing a serious threat to performance, mood and mental health.”

“Staff are usually sleep deprived. We’ve got a sleep-deprived society. It is hugely damaging on the body’s systems because you are affecting physical emotional and performance systems in the body.

FuckThis

“Your liver and your heart have different patterns and you’re asking them to shift two or three hours. This is an international issue. Everybody is suffering and they don’t have to,” he says.”.

After reading this groundbreaking research, I reckon that you should march in to see your boss and demand that they let you start work late…and finish early…and take a longer lunch, basically just give you money for doing less and in a shorter time.
