Fancy heading out for a nice relaxing road trip this weekend? Here’s a look at two great places you could head to, whether it’s with the family or on your own.

Sometimes, there’s nothing better than hopping into the car and forgetting all of life’s woes with a nice long and relaxing road trip. So JOE and MSL have teamed up to bring you two ‘Road Trip’ options that will suit all kinds of drivers; from the experienced long trekkers to the restless short stoppers.

Cheer on the ladies at the All-Ireland Camogie Finals in Croke Park

The lads had their turn last weekend and, luckily for everyone privileged to witness Tipp v Kilkenny on Sunday, will again in a couple of weeks’ time, but this Sunday, the ladies will take over Croker as the All-Ireland Camogie Finals come to Croke Park.

The main event will see Kilkenny looking to make up last year’s final defeat to Galway and they’ll take on a Cork side who haven’t won a title in five years. Kilkenny, meanwhile, will also be in action in the Intermediate Final against Limerick, with Down and Laois contesting the Junior Final.

The action gets underway around 12 noon, so if you are heading to Drumcondra from one of the counties competing on Sunday, make sure to get on the road early for what should be another cracking day at GAA headquarters.

Give your ears a treat at the Dingle Tradfest

Dingle is well worth a visit at any time of year, but when it coincides with a weekend of activity in the famous Kerry town then it’s even better. This weekend sees the staging of the annual Dingle Tradfest, a festival that has been running since 2011 and has got bigger and better every year since.

Acts from home and abroad will perform at various venues from Thursday, September 11 to September 14 and there’ll be plenty going on besides, such as a range of outdoor events, busking competitions and a Tom Crean expedition.

Before you arrive, it’s worth taking in some of the breathtaking sights on the drive down to the south-west and if time allows it, why not head to Killarney for a spin around the Ring of Kerry, one of the most scenic routes in the country and, as locals will tell you, the world.
