Finally, some research we can really get behind.

We can't deny at this stage that we're excited for Christmas. There's definitely a *festive* change in town, especially with all the Christmas lights going up and the general whiff of hot port around Dublin's inns and taverns. However, if you're dead against the sight of baubles and wreaths in November, you might want to check yourself because apparently putting up Christmas decorations early makes you happy. Psychoanalyst Steve McKeown revealed: "In a world full of stress and anxiety, people like to associate to things that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of the childhood. "Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical emotions of excitement. So putting up those Christmas decorations early extends the excitement!"
