Brrrrrrrrr

Weather

We regret to inform you – winter is at it again.

The cold weather is showing no sign of letting up as temperatures are set to plummet to a chilly -2° on Tuesday evening, with Munster and Dublin seemingly the worst affected.

Met Éireann has predicted minus temperatures for the whole country, with scattered showers targeting the north and the west of Ireland. The showers will become confined to Atlantic coastal areas tonight and the bulk of the country will be dry and clear.

”It will be a clear and cold night with a widespread frost and icy stretches will develop along untreated roads. Lows of +2 to -2 degrees in northerly breezes.”

And unfortunately, the rest of the week doesn’t get much better…

Met Éireann’s forecast for Wednesday is yet another wintry day, with scattered showers and icy patches:

”Wednesday night will be mostly dry with good clear spells at first but showers will continue to affect the north and west with the risk of wintry ones. But cloud will gradually start to build from the north and northwest by morning. It will still be a cold night with lowest temperatures falling to between -2 and +2 degrees with a widespread frost and a risk of icy patches as winds fall light.”

However, Friday brings some hope – as nightfall brings slightly warmer temperatures of 3°- 7°.

”Friday and the weekend will become dull, with hazy sunshine and occasional outbreaks of rain and drizzle as high pressure builds from the west. Day time temperatures will gradually increase from 6 to 10 degrees on Friday to around 9 to 11 degrees on Sunday. Also it will be less cold at night as lowest temperatures will remain around 3 to 7 degrees.”
