Video: How cool is this? Truck made almost entirely of ice drives on Canadian streets

In a bid to prove just how well their batteries work in the cold a Canadian company called Canadian Tire set about proving it in a most original way. With their battery in place, the company bought a normal truck chassis, stuck extra coolant in the engine and then constructed a truck entirely of ice to sit on top.

Weighing 11,000 pounds, the ice part of the truck was constructed by ice sculptors and to prove the entire project worked, the truck was driven one mile down the road, at a speed of 12mph. We would say that is a glacial pace but it’s a little faster than that.
