One driver was captured by the Fermoy Traffic Unit doing 172kph in heavy traffic.
A number of drivers throughout Ireland were caught driving at high speeds on what was a busy weekend on the roads for An Garda Síochána.
The Gardaí posted a series of pictures on the @GardaTraffic account of motorists caught driving well in excess of the speed limit throughout the weekend, with one driver on the M8 detected driving at 172 kph through heavy traffic on Friday night.
