The Mercedes-Benz E-Class was named as the Irish car of the year at a ceremony in the Powerscourt Hotel in Enniskerry on Thursday night. The gala black tie event turned out to be a good night all round for Mercedes, with the C-Class Coupé also winning in the medium car of the year category in awards determined by a selection of Irish motoring journalists. There were also nods for the Suzuki Baleno, the Peugeot 2008, the Hyundai Tucson, the Ford Edge and the Ford Mustang on the night; you can check out the list of award-winning cars in full below.
