9 burning questions that we have after binge watching Daredevil Season 2

Paul Moore

The man without fear is back.

Like many of you, we spent the entire weekend with our bums stuck to the couch and our eyes glued to the TV screen because the superb Daredevil made a return to Netflix. Things are heating up in Hell’s Kitchen because the new season of Daredevil has introduced two key characters, The Punisher and Elektra.

With Jessica Jones kicking ass, Luke Cage about to cause havoc and two more shows featuring Iron Fist and The Defenders on the way, Marvel and Netlfix are really spoiling us right now but there’s a few questions that we have after finishing the new season of Daredevil.

Right now, we’re firing our spoiler alert bullet straight into your skull and just like The Punisher, we never miss.

In no particular order…

1) What’s the deal with those zombie teens?

The siege on Metro General by ‘The Hand’ was arguably the best scene in the season but what was the purpose of those kids that were drained of their blood? Do they have some affiliation to the fabled ‘Black Sky’?

2) Are Nelson & Murdock done?

Let’s be honest. Matt was a bit of a dick this season because just when Karen and Foggy needed him the most, he vanished like a fart in the wind.

Let’s recap. He missed the opening statements in Frank Castle’s trial and then he deliberately turned his affections towards Elektra, just when it seemed like there was an office romance on the cards with Karen.

The new firm are on extremely shaky ground, especially since Foggy looks like he’s about to join the law firm of Jessica Jones’s main employer, Jeri Hogarth.

Maybe some time apart will do them good.

At least we know why they’re on the verge of bankruptcy.

3) What’s on the Micro disk?

The Punisher isn’t exactly a sentimental person so why did he go back to his house to retrieve the disc that’s labeled ‘Micro’ before burning the place to the ground?

Maybe it has something to do with that operation in Kandahar that he wants to keep hidden from the world but the smart money is on a well known character from the graphic novels making an appearance.

Who could that be?

4) What was the purpose of ‘The Hand’s’ giant hole?

We’re not the only ones to dwell on this rather big plot hole. Maybe the answer is simple, the Yakuza just like digging.

5) Karen’s a journalist now.

Ben Urich will be proud of her because Karen’s search for the truth was one of the strongest arcs this season. Still though, it seems like there was a huge leap from her role of legal researcher to journalist.

6) What about her past?

She did seem to know an awful lot about guns during that discussion with The Punisher. We have a feeling that there’s much more to her backstory that’s about to be revealed.

7) We need The Punisher back.

The elusive Blacksmith is still at large meaning The Punisher’s thirst for vengeance hasn’t been quenched just yet. We’ve also got a feeling that Frank Castle won’t be forgiving Kingpin/ Wilson Fisk anytime soon, especially after that memorable double-cross in prison.

This being said, how amazing was Jon Bernthal in the role? We really hope that he’s used again in any upcoming Marvel features, TV or films.

8) Where do we stand with Elektra.

Did ‘The Hand’ resurrect her just so they can worship and kill in her name or will she rise as something else altogether?

It’s very likely that Elektra will go to war with Matt Murdock in Season 3 (we would be amazed if another season doesn’t happen) and with Charlie Cox hinting at an introduction for Bullseye, Hell’s Kitchen is set for one epic smackdown.

9) Luke Cage looks badass.

Not a question but a statement of intent.
