Two people with extremely interesting stories.

FX Networks have announced a new documentary series that will take a deep dive into the life of rapper Tupac Shakur and his mother, Afeni.

Tupac’s story has been well documented through his music and a number of movies and documentaries, but his mother’s is somewhat less known.

Afeni Shakur was an author, activist, former member of the Black Panther Party and also a drug addict during a period of her life.

And if you’ve ever heard the legendary song ‘Dear Mama’, you’ll know just how Tupac feels about how important his mother was to him.

“A poor single mother on welfare, tell me how ya did it
There’s no way I can pay you back
But the plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated”

Gets us every time…

Directed by Allen Hughes, news of Outlaw: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur was announced on Tuesday, although they are yet to share a release date yet.

The announcement coincides with the news that the new season of American Crime Story will focus on the impeachment of former US President Bill Clinton, which will also be produced by FX.
