A Quiet Place sequel

The movie was one of the best movies of 2018 without a doubt.

We are huge fans of A Quiet Place here at JOE.

We included it in our five best movies of 2018 so far in June, and reckon it has every chance of being in our top 10 best movies of the year come December.

And it wasn’t just us. It had an extremely impressive score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. It also made $50 million in the opening weekend at the US box office, and will definitely be in the conversation when Oscars season comes around.

The movie also grossed $332 million worldwide on a budget of just $17 million.

These are just some of the reasons why we are delighted that there is going to be a sequel.

We don’t know much about the sequel just yet, but we do have a date for its release.

And it’s not good news…

According to Forbes, we won’t get to see the eagerly anticipated movie until 15 May, 2020.

Balls.

That is ages away.

Ah well, at least we’ll be ready for it when it comes.

This information comes alongside the news that another huge Paramount movie, Top Gun: Maverick, was put on the backburner.

If you’re wondering why Paramount aren’t getting it ready for 2019, that’s because they’ll be busy with this

The Hollywood Reporter also stated that star of the film and director John Karinski will be involved in some fashion, saying: “Krasinski, who directed the original, is writing the follow-up. While there isn’t a deal in place yet, Krasinski is exepcted to helm the sequel as well.”

Roll on 2020.
