Amazon Prime Video has just added 30 huge movies to its library
If you're an Amazon Prime Video subscriber, there is definitely something here you'll want to check out...
Amazon Prime Video is celebrating the end of May (and the beginning of all of that lovely weather!) with some great (and some not so great) movies to check out when you decide to head back to the couch and get out of the sun.
THE BLIND SIDE
Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for her performance in this very-easy-to-watch sports drama about a woman who becomes the adoptive parent to someone who would become a famous NFL player.
BLOOD FATHER
Mel Gibson headlines this actually very decent action thriller, playing a former convict who must protect his daughter after she shoots a drug lord.
COLLATERAL BEAUTY
An all-star cast including Will Smith, Helen Mirren, Edward Norton, Rosario Dawson and Keira Knightley feature in this incredibly dumb drama.
CRAZY STUPID LOVE
One of the better rom-coms of recent years, with Steve Carrell, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and Juliette Moore all in flying form.
DEEP BLUE SEA
Giant, intelligent sharks are trying to kill the people who created them. Sooooooo much fun, soooooo sooooooooooooooo stupid.
THE DISASTER ARTIST
Dave Franco, James Franco and Seth Rogen star in this comedic retelling of how The Room - famously one of the worst movies ever made - came to be.
THE DUKES OF HAZARD
Seann William Scott, Johnny Knoxville and Jessica Simpson attempt to drag this old TV show into a modern setting. It doesn't work.
EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE
Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock and Viola Davis feature in this maudlin drama about a young boy trying to find the meaning behind a key left behind by his dead father.
FALLEN
A sorta-decent-ish supernatural thriller in which a detective (Denzel Washington) finds himself tormented by the wandering soul of a serial killer he helped get put on death row.
FIST FIGHT
A truly unfunny comedy in which two teachers (Charlie Day and Ice Cube) get into an altercation after one of them accidentally gets the other one fired.
FOOL'S GOLD
Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey attempt to recapture the How To Lose A Guy magic, but this one can't hold a candle to that classic rom-com.
FROM PARIS WITH LOVE
An absolutely bonkers action thriller with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Travolta blowing up entire sections of France.
GOING IN STYLE
Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin star in this very average old-men-do-a-heist comedy drama thriller.
GOING THE DISTANCE
Drew Barrymore and Justin Long star in this enjoyable rom-com about a couple trying to keep their relationship alive when they are forced into a long-distance situation.
GOON
A very, VERY funny sports comedy with Seann William Scott as a brilliantly gifted ice hockey player.
THE GREAT GATSBY
Leonardo DiCaprio headlines Baz Luhrmann's lush retelling of the classic story of a man driven to isolation by his own wealth.
GREEN LANTERN
Should've been DC's answer to Iron Man, but despite Ryan Reynolds firing on all charm cylinders, it just never quite comes together.
HALL PASS
Owen Wilson and Jason Sudekis are given a weekend of guilt-free bachelorhood by their wives. A not-good comedy.
INTO THE STORM
A disaster movie mixed with a found footage movie sounds like it COULD work. And it still could. But it doesn't here.
MADAGASCAR
The first of the animated comedy series, with a great voice cast (Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith) as animals in a zoo dreaming of returning to Africa.
MALIGNANT
A seriously bizarre but very fun horror from the guy behind Insidious and The Conjuring.
THE MUMMY
The movie that put Brendan Fraser on the map for most of us. Amazon Prime Video has also added the sequels and prequels The Mummy Returns, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and The Scorpion King.
RENDITION
Meryl Streep, Jake Gyllenhaal and Reece Witherspoon star in this dark wartime thriller. Should have been great. Ends up pretty average.
STEVE JOBS
Michael Fassbender is extraordinary in Danny Boyle's take on a biopic, detailing the Apple guy's life through the launch of three major products.
THE WEDDING SINGER
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler headline one of the most loved rom-coms ever made.
THE WHALE
Amazon Prime Video has just added one of the most controversial movies of 2023. Enjoy?
THE WITCHES (1990)
The original adaptation of the classic creepy kids book features an unbelievable performance by Angelica Huston as the head witch.
