The director has confirmed that it is ALSO going to be the third Conjuring movie.
Who would've guessed back in 2013, when the first The Conjuring movie was released, that it would result in a cinematic universe to rival even the MCU.
Now, five movies (The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun) and over $1.5 billion at the box office later, the future is looking brighter than ever.
We've got The Curse Of La Llorna this May (although we don't know how it folds into The Conjuring universe yet), and The Crooked Man reportedly due sometime in 2020, but before that one, we've got Annabelle Comes Home.
James Wan, who directed the first two Conjuring movies, as well as writing and producing both of the Annabelle movies to date, took to Instagram to give the first glimpse of the new horror movie, saying:
"OK, maybe she has snuck cameos in my other recent films (which I won’t confirm or deny), BUT… she’ll very definitely be up front and center on this one! The real next chapter of THE CONJURING Universe. On June 28th #AnnabelleComesHome."
So, a few things there. "She has snuck cameos in my other recent films"... does that mean Annabelle has popped up somewhere in Aquaman?! That'd be insane. But, we guess, no more insane that anything else in Aquaman.
Plus, it looks like Wan has confirmed that Annabelle Comes Home will also double as The Conjuring 3, as she will head to the home of the Lorraines (yep, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are back), and we've been told that her evil presence activates all of the other evil artifacts they have in their locked off room, using that distraction so Annabelle herself can focus on the Lorraine's 10-year-old daughter.
Yep, sounds great to us!
Annabelle Comes Home is due to scare the living daylights out of Irish audiences from Friday 28 June.
Meanwhile, back when he was chatting all things Aquaman, we asked Wan what we should expected from the creepy doll threequel, and this is what he had to say:
