AIR – 5 April

Ben Affleck directs and stars in this true-life drama about how Nike managed to land Michael Jordan as a client for their new shoe line, effectively turning the entire industry on its head. Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Jason Bateman, Chris Messina, Marlon Wayans and Chris Tucker fill out the very impressive cast list.

THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE – 7 April

An all-star voice cast including Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black and Seth Rogen take part in this animated feature of the hit video games series, coming from the folks behind the Despicable Me and Minions movies.

THE POPE’S EXORCIST – 7 April

Russell Crowe headlines this horror that was partly filmed in Ireland and is somewhat based on a true story. Crowe plays the Vatican’s primary exorcist who is sent to the site of a potential possession in Spain, only to discover the demon there has been waiting for him specifically.

RENFIELD – 14 April

We all know the story of Dracula, but not quite like this. A horror-comedy set in modern day New Orleans, we see Dracula (a perfectly cast Nicolas Cage) as he attempts to regenerate his powers, while his put-upon assistant Renfield (Nicholas Hault) realises there is more to this life than helping the master of darkness.

MISSING – 21 April

A sorta sequel to techno-thriller Searching, this sees a young girl (Storm Reid) using all technology available to her to track down her mother who has gone missing in Colombia while on holiday with her new boyfriend.

EVIL DEAD RISE – 21 April

Irish director Lee Cronin (The Hole in the Ground) tackles one of the most beloved horror franchises in cinema history, with the action switched to a rundown apartment block in Los Angeles. Prepare yourself, because there will be blood…

BIG GEORGE FOREMAN – 28 April

Based on the true story of the infamous boxer who stepped back into the ring at the age of 45, with the goal of becoming the oldest person to be named the heavyweight champion of the world.
