AUDIO: Brendan Dassey’s brother has written a rap about the events of Making A Murderer

Carl Kinsella

Making A Murderer

Rap music has often been the vehicle through which people have stood up to injustice.

But Brad Dassey’s song ‘They Didn’t Do It’, a tribute to his younger brother Brendan and uncle Steven Avery’s innocence, is not of the genre’s finer moments.

Whether it’s the choppy rhyme schemes, single-syllable rhymes or the bit where he just shouts “Gun!” out of nowhere, the song kind of struggles from start to finish.

We can’t blame the self-styled “Christian/Gospel Hip Hop/Rap artist” for trying to bring attention to his family’s cause, and the song has garnered almost 80,000 listens, but we’re pretty sure this is not going to be the thing that tips the scales in the favour of Steven Avery and young Brendan Dassey.
