What can you hear?
From educating children about such sensitive topics as autism and homelessness, to colourful sing-a-longs and loveable characters, Sesame Street is well-known as the archetype of child-friendly programming.
So viewers were particularly taken aback this week when they heard Sesame Street mainstay Grover come out with something more than a little off-colour.
Or at least, that’s what they think they heard.
The internet is abuzz with debate this week over what Grover actually did say. The clip below shows Grover saying one of two things: “Oh the camera, yes, that sounds like an excellent idea” or “Oh the camera, yes, that’s a fuckin’ excellent idea.”
Given Sesame Street’s unimpeachable reputation, we feel safe in assuming that Grover is saying the former but take our word for it, once you watch this video you won’t be able to hear anything else.
Maybe Grover was just really enthusiastic about that fuckin’ camera, who knows.
