Masters of the Air

It’s a follow up to Band of Brothers.

Apple TV+ is quickly becoming the go-to streamer for excellent series and film lately. And after seeing the new showreel video for its upcoming projects, it seems to be continuing that trend.

One series which pops up in the video is Barry Keoghan’s next project Masters of the Air. A follow-up to 2001’s Band of Brothers, the war series will be produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and Tom Hanks’ Playtone.

Based on a book by Donald L. Miller, the plot focuses on eleven men inside a bomber plane known as the “Flying Fortress” fighting for their lives against swarms of enemy German fighters during WW2. Austin Butler also stars alongside the Dubliner, as well as Spielberg’s son, Sawyer.

Cary Fukunaga, director of Daniel Craig’s Bond swansong No Time to Die, takes up directing duties for the first three episodes.

Another first look we see is a very brief glimpse at the upcoming mystery series Sugar, which stars Colin Farrell. In the trailer, we catch barely a second of Farrell in what looks like an interrogation room with a cheeky grin on his face.

The plot is being seriously kept under wraps but we do know that it is a “genre-bending contemporary take on the private detective story set in Los Angeles”.

The brief look at Farrell’s character doesn’t give much else away as far as the story is concerned, but we are intrigued by how much of a secret they’re keeping it. There’s nothing like a bit of mystery.

The show also stars The Sandman’s Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Amy Ryan, Anna Gunn and James Cromwell. Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, Thor) serves as writer and executive producer on the project, with Farrell also executive producing.

Other shows in Apple’s Upcoming Series and Films video include Platonic, Lessons in Chemistry, Hijack, Palm Royale, The Morning Show Season 3, Loot Season 2, The Afterparty Season 2, Foundation Season 2, The Beanie Bubble, The Crowded Room, Flora and Son, Physical Season 3 and Swagger Season 2.

It’s an impressive line-up with a lot of interesting projects that are bound to go under the radar.
