Go on, admit it. You’re singing the iconic Baywatch theme tune right now, aren’t you?
We’ll be honest, so are we. In fact, ever since we saw the very first trailer for the big screen adaptation of the much-loved 90s TV show, we haven’t been able to get it out of our heads.
Luckily though, we managed to stop singing it just long enough to talk to the actual stars of the new film; Zac Efron, Zac Efron’s abs, Alexandra Daddario and Priyanka Chopra.
Alongside those wonderful people, this brand new Baywatch stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the legendary Mitch Buchannon, the world’s most dedicated and muscly lifeguard (no offence, David Hasselhoff) who has to save his beloved bay after it’s threatened by conniving criminals and deadly drug lords.
Those pesky crooks, always up to no good. Thank god Dwayne’s around to save the day…
To mark the film’s release in Irish cinemas, we caught up with some of the film’s stars to chat about angry Irish sheep, Ed Sheeran songs and The Rock’s “secret weapon”, and before you even ask the question, the answer is yes, of course we conducted the interview in slow motion.
We didn’t wear a red swimsuit though. We weren’t allowed.
