Here are the best films on TV tonight

Paul Moore

Public Service Announcement: Con Air is on TV. You’re welcome.

It’s too damn warm and if you’re watching a movie on the couch tonight, we presume it’s like this.

Anyway, here’s what’s on the box tonight.

Con Air: Sky One at 21:00

We’ll always put the bunny back in the box. A classic of the mindless-action genre.

Role Models: Comedy Central at 21:00

Gayle Sweeny : You know what I used to have for breakfast? Cocaine. Know what I had for lunch? Cocaine.

Wheeler : What did you have for dinner?

Danny : Was it cocaine?

A wonderful vehicle for all that’s great about Paul Rudd.

Star Trek Beyond : Film 4 at 21:00

incredible scene featuring Sabotage by The Beastie Boys. It’s grand.

The World’s End: E4 at 21:00

Not quite as good as Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz but it’s still a worthwhile finale to the Cornetto Trilogy.

The Man Who Wanted to Fly : RTÉ1 at 21:35

Documentary which tells the irresistible story of 80-something bachelor farmer Bobby Coote and his lifelong ambition to fly. With the help of neighbour Sean, the two cut a runway in Sean’s farm and build a hanger; but with no encouragement from Bobby’s fellow octogenarian brother Ernie, who thinks the whole endeavour is daft.

Hobo With a Shotgun : SyFy at 22:00

Does what it says on the tin. Bonkers but enjoyable.

Fargo: 22:00 on ITV4

We’ve never looked at a wood chipper in the same way. Oh yeaaaaah.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
