Movies on TV

It’s Tuesday.

We’re knee deep in the new working week so we guess you want to let off some steam and kick back and watch some movies on TV.

Here’s the pick of the movies on this evening.

Eye in the Sky – Film 4 – 7pm

One of the best films on this evening stars Alan Rickman, Helen Mirren and Aaron Paul in a thriller exploring ethics in drone warfare.

My Name is Emily – Virgin Media Two – 9pm

Excellent Irish movie about a teenager’s attempt to free her father from a psychiatric institution with the help of a newly-acquired friend.

Dude, Where’s My Car? – E4 – 9pm

Two friends wake up with the realisation they have absolutely no memory of the events of the night before. They set about retracing their steps – only to stumble across a host of crazy characters, a flock of marauding ostriches and a cult.

Escape Plan – Film4 – 9pm

Man who tests prisons for a living must break out of a… prison. For real.

Gone Girl – RTÉ2 – 9.30pm

David Fincher’s slickly converts Gillian Flynn’s novel to the big screen and will turn you off the idea of marriage forever.

Ben Affleck is the primary suspect in the murder of his missing wife Rosamund Pike, but we slowly learn she was not the perfect spouse she appeared to be, and she may not be as dead as she’s reported to be.

Lone Survivor – ITV4 – 11.10pm

Violent true story about a group of Navy SEALs – including Mark Wahlberg and Taylor Kitsch – find themselves stuck behind enemy lines in Afghanistan when an assassination attempt goes sideways.
