The Doctor will see you now…
First Dates Ireland, airing every Tuesday night, appears to give the general public the little boost it needs to combat that midweek drag.
Each and every week, we watch couples try their hand at the game of love, and despite participants not always finding the one, the date itself seems to be a bit of fun and well worth trying out.
For the rest of the country, at least.
Tuesday night’s episode introduced the people of Ireland to the lovely Darragh and Emma, who seemed to do pretty well out of the dating show.
Darragh, who was a hit with the ladies of social media from the get-go, only multiplied the general public’s interest in him when he announced that he was both a doctor and a well-skilled cook.
And the crowd went wild…
Someone get me this doctors phone number #FirstDatesIRL

Yep, it appears that Darragh, the heart surgeon, (you couldn’t make this up) made the country’s collective singletons’ heart skip a beat.
And as well as appealing to the supposed medical-loving masses, dater Darragh also struck the eye of Ireland’s GAA enthusiasts – for an entirely different reason.
Comparing his likeness to one of their own, some of the nation’s hurling fans were convinced that Darragh was indeed Galway senior hurler Joe Canning dressed up in disguise.
He cooks, he’s a doctor, but does he also play senior hurling for Galway is the question??? 🤔🤔😂 #FirstDatesIrl #JoeyCanningLookalike

And to be fair, they sort of have a point.
The best part of it all? Both Doctor Darragh and lovely Essex-girl Emma ended up falling for each other and confirming a second date.
Just what the doctor ordered! #FirstDatesIRL pic.twitter.com/0RzGamSGyN

Love is real, guys. You apparently just have to be ridiculously good-looking, fun and talented to get it.
Great.
