When you've Michael Bay involved in your show, then you know that the action is going to be good.
And while the first season of Jack Ryan was maybe one of the best action shows ever to grace the small screen, we can confirm from the first few episodes that we've seen, the action quota for the new set of episodes is much higher than we would have imagined.
In the run up to the release of the second season, JOE was lucky enough to sit down with all of the major players of the show, and we asked them all what scene or scenes they were most excited about viewers finally get their eyes on.
We had previously chatted to Wendell Pierce (who you should know from The Wire, and is playing James Greer here) about his personal highlights, which included a crazy story about filming in Russia that we highly recommend you read.
Noomi Rapace (best known from Prometheus, here playing Hariett Baumann) is more focused on the character development: "It is totally like a cat and mouse kind of chase between me and Jack. It takes different turns and twists and you're just like 'Oh, woah! Okay!', which I loved. So I feel like it is going to be a really fun journey for people, and it is not what you think, you know?"
Michael Kelly (famously played Doug Stamper in House Of Cards, and plays Mike November in Jack Ryan) keeps it short: "I can probably say the word 'palace'. There is something to do with the palace that I took great joy in filming. It was one of the hardest things I've done, but I've seen it, and it is very rewarding."
And finally, Jack Ryan himself, John Krasinski (who has previously told us about how much he loved working with Cillian Murphy on A Quiet Place 2), told us that "You're very much interacting with these locations, in a very real way. Meaning when we were in Bogota, we were in genuinely dangerous neighbourhoods. And you've closed down the sets, but there is an energy and vibe to the neighbourhood that you're in, to the situation that you're in.
"Here in London - I've been to London many times, obviously, having married a Brit - but never have I shot here, and never have I shot here in a way like this. We shot a huge action scene in Picadilly Square that was, yes, being in these locations was exciting, story-wise, so when you shut down Picadilly, it really amps you up as an actor. Because you know you've only got a few shots at this.
"You know you'll start looking like a jerk real fast if you're like 'Can I have one more [take]?' when all of these people are waiting!"
Jack Ryan Season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Friday 1 November.
