Channel 4 to bring back classic reality show after seven years

It's a blast from the past.

By the looks of it, the success of Love Island is having an effect on the rest of the reality TV market, as it's being reported that classic noughties show Shipwrecked could be getting brought back to our screens. Despite being cancelled in 2012, the show - which originally ran as a social experiment between 2000-01, but returned in 2006 with a £100,000 cash prize for the winning team - has been penciled in for a return in 2019. A TV insider told The Sun: “Lots of people have fond memories of watching Shipwrecked in their youth and dreaming about joining the fun in paradise. “Now Channel 4 have decided to give millennials the same experience, after Love Island proved sun-kissed hunks and beauties frolicking in a tropical setting can result in huge ratings. “While there have been similar shows recently, like The Island and Mission Survive, they are all about making people miserable by forcing them to fight for their lives in the wild." I don't remember watching it myself, probably as I spent the majority of the noughties doing more important shit, like playing PS2 and hitting people up Myspace.
