Details about the next massive Game of Thrones battle have emerged

Maisie Williams has also given an update on the premiere date.

You know what's coming. Winter? Nah, winter is already here. OK, with the news that Game of Thrones won't be returning until 2019, plenty of people have been curious about a more particular timeframe. While promoting her new film, Early Man, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) conducted an interview with Metro, where she provided a bit more information. "We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019]. That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities," she said. Again, nothing official has been confirmed but an April debut would be in keeping with Thrones’ traditional spring air date. Season 7 kicked off in July of last year, but that was an exception. Much like the White Walkers and their plans to dominate the Seven Kingdoms, we must move on because some fairly massive plot details have been revealed by the renowned GOT website, Watchers on the Wall. They've discovered that the Thrones crew are hard at work on the Winterfell set in Moneyglass, Northern Ireland. What's curious though, is that there are new battlements and towers in place - clearly implying that a battle or siege is about to take place. Oakleaf Photography has reported that a battle did, in fact, take place and it involved 200 extras. Would this attack on Winterfell be coming from the White Walkers or from a more human enemy from the south? After all, Cersei made her intentions very clear that end of Season 7. Well, as you can see in the Oakleaf Photography post on Twitter, it's clear that there are humans clad in armour outside the gates of Winterfell. A few things are clear. 1) There's going to be a big battle at Winterfell, 2) it's going takes place at night, and 3) stuff is on fire. Could this be Drogon or Rhaegal’s doing?  Then again, Winterfell would surely be one of the first destinations that the Night King and the White Walkers attack. Given that the scale of every action setpiece in the show has constantly increased, we're pumped to see what Season 7 has in store - especially since Miguel Sapochnik (Hardhome, Battle of the Bastards, The Winds of Winter) is directing a few episodes. https://twitter.com/thronesfacts/status/902647736482152448
