It’s taken them long enough.
Netflix has just added all eight seasons of Dexter, one of the “best shows ever” to the site, and people are being mind-blown after discovering it for the first time.
The series, which first came out in 2006, has to be one of the bloodiest binge watches out there.
And now that it has officially hit the streaming service, certain viewers can’t believe it’s taken them this long to check it out.
Following Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, the show chronicles his journey as a forensic technician who lives a parallel life as a vigilante serial killer – hunting down murderers who have not been adequately punished by the justice system.
The first season was based on Jeff Lindsay’s novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter, before the series went on to give the characters a fresh life of their own.
Also featuring amongst its cast throughout its seasons C.S. Lee, David Zayas, James Remar, Jennifer Carpenter and John Lithgow alongside Hall, the show quickly became a fan favourite when it originally aired nearly 20 years ago.
However, now that it has recently landed on Netflix, it has been introduced to a whole new audience.
People have been taking to social media to share their views on the series.
One person wrote: “OMG!!!! Dexter is on Netflix. About to have the time of my life.”
“Best mate texted me really excited to let me know Dexter is on Netflix. I’ve never watched it and she’s begging me to start it because I’ll love it. That’s tonight’s TV sorted then,” another put.
While a third put: “Dexter is hands down one of the best TV shows ever created. And it’s now out on Netflix!”
Those who had already seen the series were also relishing their chance to rewatch the series.
“Yoooooooo Dexter is back on Netflix. Time for a billionth rewatch,” one person wrote.
“Oh my god my all time fav series ever is finally on Netflix???? Yeah I’m spending my Friday with a Dexter marathon,” a second penned.
“Dexter is in Netflix? Best believe I’ll rewatch the whole show,” a third wrote.
Dexter’s eight seasons are streaming on Netflix in Ireland and the UK right now.
