A great mix of much-anticipated new series and some classic movies arriving in May.
MAY… the force be with you. Geddit? Cos it’s MAY? And also there’s a Star Wars thing coming to Disney+ in MAY?
Whatever, forget it, here’s the must-watch stuff coming to Disney+ in May.
American Crime Story: Seasons One & Two – 4 May
Both the seasons involving The People VS O.J. Simpson and The Assassination of Gianna Versace will be available to watch on Disney+ at the beginning of May. We imagine it won’t be too much longer before the third season – the Impeachment story around Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky – will be available to watch, too.
How I Met Your Father – 11 May
The sorta-spin-off of the hugely popular How I Met Your Mother sit-com, with a mother in the year 2050 (Kim Cattrall) telling her son who her younger self (Hilary Duff) met his father, as well as the many, MANY other romantic complications along the way.
All episodes will be available to watch from 11 May.
Bruce Almighty – 13 May
At the height of this box office powers, Jim Carrey plays a character who is literally granted the powers of God himself (Morgan Freeman), to see if he can do a better job as an all-knowing, all-seeing deity. Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carrell and Philip Baker Hall fill out the cast.
Life & Beth – 18 May
When she gets a bit of a wake-up call, Beth (Amy Schumer) decides she needs to do something drastic to shake things up in her happy-but-boring life. 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, if you’re thinking whether or not this might be any good, because apparently it is.
All episodes will be available to watch from 18 May.
Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers – 20 May
A movie based on the much-loved animated duo, with Andy Samberg and John Mulaney voicing the central duo, supporting by an all-star cast including Will Arnett, Eric Bana, J.K. Simmons, Chris Parnell, Keegan-Michael Key and Seth Rogen.
The Transporter & The Transporter 2 – 20 May

Patti Cake$ – 27 May
A bit of a hidden gem when it was released in cinemas a few years ago, it tells the story of a woman (Danielle Macdonald) who dreams of becoming a rap superstar.
Obi-Wan Kenobi – 27 May
Set after the events of Revenge of the Sith but before A New Hope, this season will fill in the blanks of what Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen) got up to before a certain Skywalker began to put balance back into the Force.
The first two episodes will arrive initially, and then the rest of the season will drop each Friday after that.
JFK – 27 May
Oliver Stone’s Oscar-winning drama that dives into a District Attorney’s (Kevin Costner) attempts to unravel the events around President Kennedy’s assassination. It is over three hours long, so prepare yourself for that.
Pistol – 31 May
