The 10 must-watch new (and old) arrivals coming to Disney+ in September

Rory Cashin

Star Wars, Marvel, The Kardashians, Mike Tyson and the return of Hocus Pocus are all on the menu through the month.

If you’ve got a Disney+ subscription, then you’ve got a lot to choose from through the month of September.

Thor: Love and Thunder – 8 September

The fourth solo Thor movie arrives on the streaming service at the start of the month, joined by Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Tessa Thompson.

We chatted to the movie’s director, co-writer and star Taika Waititi about the project right here:

Pinocchio – 8 September

Not to be confused with Netflix’s adaptation from Guillermo Del Toro, this one comes from Robert Zemeckis (Back To The Future, Cast Away), and it stars Tom Hanks, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt voicing Jiminy Cricket.

Wedding Season – 8 September

Fronted by Irish actor Gavin Drea, this murder-mystery series about a wedding in which everyone but the bride (Rosa Salazar) is killed, with her lover (Drea) being the primary suspect.

Mike – 8 September

A dramatised series telling the life of Mike Tyson (here played by Moonlight star Trevante Rhodes), exploring the wild, tragic and controversial life and career of the heavyweight champion.

The Shape of Water – 16 September

Guillermo Del Toro’s four-time Oscar-winning fantasy romantic drama about an employee (Sally Hawkins) at a top-secret government base, who begins a relationship with a creature that is held captive there.

Andor – 21 September

Pushed back slightly from its original August release date – likely so as not to clash with She-Hulk, House of the Dragon and the upcoming Rings of Power – this prequel to the events of Rogue One sees the young smuggler (Diego Luna) in the early days of his resistance against the Empire.

The first three episodes arrive on 21 September, with the remainder arriving weekly after that.

The Kardashians – 22 September

The new season of the show will release new episodes every Thursday, with the events surrounding Kim’s relationship and subsequent break-up with Pete Davidson likely to be at the centre of the drama.

The Greatest Showman – 23 September

The much-loved musical arrives on the streaming service at long last, telling the story of P.T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman), celebrating the birth of show-business as we know it.

The Old Man – 28 September

Jeff Bridges stars as a retired CIA agent who is forced back into action when an assassin arrives at his isolated ranch. It co-stars John Lithgow and Alia Shawkat.

New episodes will arrive every Wednesday.

Hocus Pocus 2 – 30 September

The sequel to the much-loved 1993 original brings back Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, as the trio of witches brought back to modern day Salem.
