#TRAILERCHEST: Dublin Oldschool has arrived, potentially the best Irish movie of 2018

Rory Cashin

Dublin Oldschool

This could legitimately be Ireland’s answer to Trainspotting.

Welcome to #TrailerChest, where we’re taking a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for Dublin Oldschool.

Plot’s it all about?:

Based on the hugely successfully play, which was also written and performed by Emmet Kirwan, Dublin Oldschool tells the story of Jason (Kirwan), a wannabe DJ, on a drug-fuelled trip through the streets of Dublin as he stumbles from one session to another.

Somewhere between the DJs, decks, and drug busts he stumbles across a familiar face from the past, his brother Daniel (Anderson). Daniel, an educated heroin addict, is living on the streets. The brothers haven’t seen or spoken to each other in years but over a lost weekend they reconnect and reminisce over raves, tunes and their troubled past.

Two brothers living very different lives might have more in common than they think.

JOE were lucky enough to catch an early screening of the movie, and we don’t think it is overselling it to say that come the end of 2018, many people might be calling this the best Irish movie of the year.

An absolute must-see.

Starring: Emmet Kirwan, Sarah Greene, Ian Llyod Anderson, Seana Kerslake, Liam Heslin, Mark O’Halloran.
