We could be set to see a brand new Matrix trilogy, the interweb (and, in a wider sense, the Matrix itself) is to be believed.

According to Empire, the Wachowskis have reportedly started the writing process with Warners said to be seriously considering revisiting one of its greatest successes. Treatments and outlines have started hitting executives' inboxes for approval, it seems. Although the second and third instalments were incomprehensible messes, they performed strongly at the box office and rumours about a new series have been rife for some time. We also don’t know if Keanu Reeves’ Neo will feature or if the film will act as a prequel to the original, and brilliant, sci-fi epic with a different actor taking his place as 'The One.'
