RTÉ’s First Dates has taken social media by storm since it first hit our screens three weeks ago.
Those who have been watching religiously will recognise Alannah-Rose from her appearance on the second episode of the series, whose date with Dawn was not one of the show’s highlights, to say the least.
Viewers were therefore likely surprised to see that RTÉ claimed Alannah had said the date was one of the ‘best nights of her life’ in the post-date summary that appears on screen.
If they were surprised, they were right to be – because Alannah said no such thing, and clarified exactly on her Twitter account.
Lies. We went to workmans with the other daters and dawn left after 10 minutes 👌 we haven't seen each other since. https://t.co/dkADl1FR7k

It’s pretty clear that Alannah must have gotten in touch with the show-runners, because the caption had been edited for the repeat version of the episode – and now bears a closer reflection to what actually happened.
The two went to the Workman’s together for 10 minutes with the rest of the dates, then Dawn hit the road.
Anyone else notice Dawn & Alannah-Rose's story after their date on #FirstDatesIRL was less optimistic in the repeat? pic.twitter.com/gslZUoubkB
