It marks the Stranger Things star’s feature film debut.
The first official look at Godzilla: King of the Monsters has been posted online ahead of the San Diego Comic-Con.
The teaser shows Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things trying to contact the monster-investigating unit, Monarch, introduced in the first Godzilla and also referenced in last year’s Kong: Skull Island.
Director Michael Dougherty previously told Entertainment Weekly that the sequel will be a reaction to the events of 2014’s Godzilla.
“The world is reacting to Godzilla in the same way we would react to any other terrifying incident, in that we are overreacting, but there’s paranoia and endless speculation about whether he is the only one out there or whether we’re threatened by others like his kind.”
Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, and Zhang Ziyi head up an-star cast.
The film is set to hit Irish screens in May of 2019.
