It is being hailed as one of 2024’s best films.

Netflix has just added His Three Daughters, a new comedy-drama movie with a near-perfect 98% Rotten Tomatoes score.

Written and directed by Azazel Jacobs (French Exit), the Netflix original film revolves around three sisters (Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen and Natasha Lyonne) who return to their father’s home to care for their dying father.

“As they wait at his bedside, old resentments rise to the surface, and the sisters’ relationships face new strains,” the plot synopsis reads.

“Will their father’s imminent death bring them closer together — or push them apart for good?”

His Three Daughters premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) earlier this month where it earned rave reviews.

In particular, critics have praised the movie for its trio of central performances, with many calling it an honest and thoughtful exploration of both family dynamics and grief.

Some critics have even hailed the film as being among the best of 2024.

You can read a sample of some of these glowing reviews right here:

Arizona Republic: “In the hands of three gifted actors — Natasha Lyonne, Elizabeth Olsen and Carrie Coon — it is a beautiful film, one of the best of the year.”

Chicago Sun-Times: “The searing movie — starring Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen and Natasha Lyonne at their emotional best — will resonate with anyone, especially people with siblings.”

New York Times: “You may laugh, seeing yourself in each of the sisters, at least in part; you may also wince in embarrassed recognition.”

Rolling Stone: “His Three Daughters ends up being nothing less than the single best movie you’ll likely see this year.”

Vanity Fair: “His Three Daughters gradually blooms into one of the most stirring dramas of the year, a sad little family story that concerns a vast universal human experience.”

Following its TIFF premiere, His Three Daughters is streaming on Netflix right now.
